As beautiful as an Aston Martin DBS is, sometimes what comes from the factory is just not good enough

The Aston Martin DBS Volante is probably one of the sexiest roadsters on the market today. Known for using the best materials and fabrics when building these cars Aston Martin truly sets themselves apart from all other car manufacturers. For most people what comes of the factory in England where these beauties are still hand made it doesn’t get any better. Al & Eds Autosound in West Hollywood CA. took this car to a whole new lever by giving the customer really what he wanted.

Since the DBS has a long low front end custom made skid plates were installed to protect the front bumper from cracking and scrapping when entering into low slopping drive ways.  Then we installed 3M clear bra material on the full hood, fenders, bumper and on the carbon fiber exterior areas to protect it from rock chips that may occur while driving.

The exterior color of this car is called Fire Storm Black which is black paint with the most beautiful red metallic flake in it only noticeable when the sun shines on it. The red flake inspired us to incorporate more “red” elements in this car. First we painted the brake calipers red. Then we made the “S’ badge in the rear of the car red as well. The factory seat belts were replaced with red ones while the seat and door panel inserts were reupholstered in red Alcantara suede. The steering wheel was recovered using black perforated supple leather on the sides with black Alcantara on the bottom and red Alcantara on the top. Of course red stitching was used to finish it all off. Custom hand made plush floor mats were created displaying the Aston Martin wings in matching red. 

While The DBS has plenty of carbon fiber displayed the interior door panel caps and the upper dash known as the “waterfall” does not come in carbon fiber. Al & Eds Autosound layed carbon fiber on those pieces to complete the interior upgrade.

The factory 20″ wheels were replaced with custom made to order Giovanna GFG Series 3-piece forged California wheels. Custom finished with a machined center, black face lines and a chrome outer lip these 21″ front and 22″ rear wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires gives this car the ultimate stance.

To protect the owner from getting speeding tickets we installed the Escort 9500Ci top of the line “Ticket Avoidance System”. This system warns the driver of X, K & KA radar bands while diffusing laser signals. Since this system also has built in GPS technology it also warns you audibly and visually of known speeding traps and camera intersections.

As a gift to the customer and to truly personalize this car for him we replaced the factory door sill plates with custom made ones letting everyone who gets into the car that this is not only an Aston Martin DBS but an A-E Edition DBS custom built for …

Here is what we did…

Mansory body kit that includes a new front bumper spoiler with fog lights and carbon fiber, Side skirts with carbon fiber inserts, trunk deck lid spoiler and a new rear bumper spoiler with carbon fiber and quad exhaust tips.

Tubi exhaust was installed for added sound and performance.

HRE 19″ brushed spoke wheels works perfectly with the factory tires.

Carbon Fiber was laid to cover the plastic in the upper center dash “waterfall” area.

Escort SRX radar detector with front and rear laser defusers. This ticket avoidance system really works. It gives you pleanty of warning of radar ahead or behind you while “defusing” laser guns. If you want to reduce your chances of getting a speeding ticket this is the system for you.

Audiophile System:

Rockford Fosgate 3sixty.2 processor with 153 bands of equalization, time alignment and an independent subwoofer control knob. After we install this device and hook it up to our laptop via bluetooth we can control and tune each speaker in the car independently. The bass knob was installed inside the center console area along with an iPod connector.

The factory door speakers are a 4″ and tweeter. We installed Focal Utopia Be Kit No.7 three way component speakers we installed in the doors. By adding the third speaker (6.5″ mid bass) the sound improvement was huge.

Using the rear compartment area behind the seats we fabricated custom subwoofer enclosures for two Pioneer 10″ shallow woofers. We used Aston Martin leather to wrap the enclosures.

To power the system we installed two Alpine PDX series amplifiers totalling over 1600 watts of power in the trunk and used carbon fiber material to finish it off.

Now this car sounds amazing and looks like no other Aston!

The added audio system, carbon fiber and custom interior on this Aston Martin will even make James Bond jealous!
