The Bang & Olufsen premium audio package was not good enough for this R8!
When the Audi R8 first came out initially everyone was excited about the Bang & Olufsen premium audio package. But, have you ever heard it? The owner of this car agreed with us that it is average at best. So here what Al & Eds Autosound in West Hollywood, Ca did to make it right.
Rockford Fosgate 3sixty.2 processor with 153 bands of equalization, time alignment and an independent subwoofer control knob. After we install this device and hook it up to our laptop via bluetooth we can control and tune each speaker in the car independently.
Focal K2 Power series 3-way component speakers were installed in the front doors. This was more than plenty for such a small interior cabin space.
Pioneer 10″ shallow subwoofer was custom fabricated in an enclosure behind the seats.
Two Alpine PDX series amplifiers totalling over 1200 watts of power were installed behind the seats as well.
Carbon fiber and leather were used to complete the subwoofer and amplifier display area.
While this car came with the desirable carbon fiber exterior blades the interior was lacking. A-E custom laid carbon fiber on the door panels insets, center dash console trim and the ring around gear shifter.
Escort SRX “ticket avoidance” system was installed to warn the driver of upcoming X,K & KA bands of police radar while “defusing” laser guns.
