After more than a year of creating custom bespoke Tesla creations for our customers it was time to annouce version 2.5 at the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas on January 6, 2010
Al & Eds Autosound in West Hollywood, CA are without a doubt the most knowledgeable and experienced customizes of Tesla cars. We have created custom one of a kindbespoke interiors, audiophile sound systems and one off special requests. We also were the first to manufacture carbon fiber doors sills. to replace the factory plastic ones that scratch and get damaged easily.
On January 6, 2010 at the CES Show in Las Vegas Al & Eds Autosound unveiled in the Alpine booth our brand new AE Edition Tesla 2.5
Here is a list of what was unveiled making it a worlds first for a Tesla…
1. Installation & integration of a double DIN size touch screen Alpine Electronics radio offering AM/FM/XM/CD/DVD/iPod/iPod video/navigation and back up camera. The radio is housed in a carbon fiber dash kit and the factory air vents that resided there have been relocated to the top of the dash. We have found that air flow has been dramatically improved.
2. Chrome front and rear mesh inserts to replace the factory plastic ones in the diffusers
3. After market front and rear carbon fiber diffusers to replace the factory plastic ones with blue LED lights activated by an interior switch to create a visual electric glowing effect.
4. LED lights activated by either opening the door or activating the remote key less system to assist with entering and exiting the vehicle.
5. Color matching the rear tail lights to the factory paint.
6. Customized 2-tone chrome and black treatment to the factory wheels.
7. After market carbon fiber air ducts to replace the factory plastic.
8. After market carbon fiber interior door handles and center console trim to replace the factory plastic.
9. Complete interior bespoke makeover. We used Ferrari grade black leather and grey Alcantara suede to completely reupholster the interior of the car. The door panel inserts and seat inserts received a diamond quilted look. The front and back side of the headrest were embroidered with the Tesla logo. The steering wheel has been reupholstered using the same leather that was perforated and integrating black Alcantara suede. New extra thick and plush floor mats with the Tesla logo hand carved into it.
10. Audiophile Alpine sound system which includes remolding the doors to accommodate a 6.5″ mid bass speaker and tweeter. A 10″ shallow subwoofer in a fiberglass enclosure located in the foot well on the passenger side. A hidden 600 watt Alpine PDX series digital amplifier. The system is powered by an independent 12 volt recyclable battery. Charging is required is done from a 110 volt plug installed in the mesh area of the rear diffuser. A full charge is completed overnight and provides up to ten days of audio enjoyment before the battery will need to be recharged.
11. To protect the exterior paint and the new bespoke interior we applied Cila Jet interior and exterior sealant.
12. Nine LED white lights in their own separate housing we integrated into the front diffuser.
13. Since the Tesla is a silent electric car we installed an Mp3 based system that gives you endless tones that are emitted. The controller was integrated into the dash and gives you endless sounds like a Ferrari reving its engine, a Formula car driving, horse and carriage or even an old fashioned horn tone.
